Home remedies for poison ivy?

Okay, I got poison ivy hiking in the woods last month. My boyfriend and I didn't see any, but I got it anyway. He didn't (lucky jerk). Anyway, I went to the doctor and got on some steroids, both in pill and topical forms. It started to go away, but new, isolated rashes have begun to develop. I'm blind and it's very hard to take care of; I've had it before as a child but did not have this much trouble recovering. I am still religiously applying topical steroid cream and making sure to stay clean and dry at all times. I've even washed and sterilized all surfaces and clothing and linens multiple times, so I'm not sure why this is happening. Anyway, what can I try at home to rid myself of this plague once and for all?
