Who was the young man dressed in a linen cloth who ran off naked at Gethsemane after Jesus arrest?

How strange that should be documented at a time when men are being tortured and nailed to a cross. If it is fact then he was probably a pick pocket rushing off with his loot. What does it matter what took place over 2000 years ago?
