What if the Armada had triumphed?

What would have been the result and how would the course of history have changed if Drake had not repelled the Armada? Would we (the English) have become part of a Europe-wide Spanish empire? Would they have gone on to colonise both North and South America? Would there have been no British Empire, with the Spanish conquering the World instead?
